To much dismay (& Mystery), we report that we will not be playing the Chicago 'Adventures in Modern Music Festival' show with the legendary band FAUST. If you don't know them already, spank yourself and then check them out:
recommended: Faust Tapes or Faust IV/So Far"
Hey! Turn that frown upside down.
Instead we will play with the extremely prolific and equally mind blowing (& with lustrous long locks), KEIJI HAINO from Japan. Check him out with Christian Marclay, Yamatsuka eye & John Zorn (and someone else, i don't think its Thurston Moore).
Wikipedia says: "Haino cites a broad range of influences, including troubadour music, Marlene Dietrich, Iannis Xenakis, Syd Barrett, and Charlie Parker. He has had a long love affair with early blues music, particularly the works of Blind Lemon Jefferson, and is heavily inspired by the Japanese musical concept of 'Ma', the silent spaces in music [see Taiko for more information]." (from Wikipedia)
Hopefully he will jam with us.
These Are Powers play with us in chicago too, they are a fantastic live show.
This is a royal remix of Night of the Hunter from the Norwegian DJ/producer Prins Thomas, known for his work with Norwegian Space Disco Explorer, Lindstrom (also on Smalltown Supersound).
The track is from the forthcoming NoTH 12", which also features a remix of TRANSPARENT C from Rory Phillips (Trash UK, Durr) and 2 new tracks tracks from CREAM CUTS. Released by Smalltown Supersound in September.

The North Carolina 12" label, FrequeNC will be releasing a limited edition 12" of new remixes and other Tussle oddities. This should be out in September with artwork from Paperad dudes(ettes). Launch party scheduled in Chapel Hill at Nightlight with Black Congo.
Today, the Tussle drummers will be participating in the 88Boadrum at L.A.'s La Brea Tar Pits. This year, Warren graduated to Drum Leader. Go give him a high-five. If you are in the LA area, go check it out! The odds are that you will wish you went.
Jennifer Maerz put some words up on the SF Weekly blog ALL SHOOK DOWN about the MISSION CREEK show that happened a few weeks ago. This has been up for a while, we just finally go around to posting it.
